How did you come to be in the calendar?

I was originally approached by Charlie Suriano for this shoot. This was the first time I had had a shoot with him so I was incredibly nervous! I always loved his work so I felt very lucky to have the opportunity to shoot with him finally.

Where do you hail from?

I live on the Gold Coast, where I was born and raised.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

Up until I was about 101 really wanted to be a movie star/actress when I was older. I used to do speech and drama, public speaking and acting lessons, which was pretty fun but I think that dream fizzled out when I hit high school. It wasn’t until a few years ago that I discovered my real passion and really knew what I wanted to do.

What is your relationship to the fitness industry?

I am currently working as a personal trainer, which I absolutely love. For the previous five years I was just training myself and it’s only been the past 1Z months that I have been training others. Being a personal trainer was one of the best decisions I have ever made -1 really love it.

What’s your favourite exercise?

My all-time favourite would have to be squats. Love training legs and squats are always included in my routine.

What’s your least favourite exercise?

Burpees! I definitely have a love/hate relationship with burpees. I’m sure most of my clients feel the same [laughs]. They always hate it when I give them burpees!

Do you prefer weights or cardio or do you change it up?

I love to incorporate both cardio and weights into my routine. Its fun to do little circuits that have higher reps of a weighted exercise plus cardio exercises; combining them will really get your heart rate up and get you super sweaty.

Have you ever competed or considered competing in a bodybuilding/fitness comp?

Nope, I’m yet to compete; I’ve considered it though. It would be a great goal and achievement to work towards.

What is your favourite male body part?

I’m a sucker for a guy with a good smile! Always been a weakness of mine.

What is your own body part that you like the best?

I would have to say that I am pretty proud of my bum and how much more shape it has gotten over the past few years. One thing I love about weight training is that it has given me curves and shape – especially in my bum!

What advice would you give to someone wanting to start out in the modelling and fitness industry?

My advice would be to follow their passion and do what makes them happy even if others doubt them. I know that I had a lot of criticism from people around me and I felt as though some of those closes to me didn’t quite believe in my ability to model or succeed as a trainer but I followed my passion regardless. Those people are no longer in my life and I am happier than ever doing what I love.

When you get the opportunity to have some time to yourself, what do you usually get up to?

When I get the opportunity to is a good way to put it; I find that I’m so busy with work and training that I don’t get much time to myself. In my free time I will usually head down to the beach for a walk or catch up with friends for coffee.

You obviously keep yourself in great shape. Tell us about your fitness routine.

Thank you! I’m in the gym every day for work so there is no excuse to not train myself. At the moment I am doing 45 minutes of cardio in the morning about three times a week and then an hour of weight training four times a week,

Are you strict about your diet or are you a sucker for the bad stuff? Do you have a nutrition plan?

I have found that following a diet in whole foods – little-to-no processing -makes me feel the best and also look the best. Monday to Friday I am pretty strict with my diet and prepare the majority of my meals but I enjoy eating out on the weekend with friends. I rarely binge on Maccas or takeaway pizza but I will go out to a nice restaurant and enjoy a well cooked meal.

Do you use supplements?

Only a few. At the moment I take fish oil tablets in the morning and night, magnesium at night and also a protein shake post-workout.

I love being outdoors so will be outside whenever I get the chance.

Who is the person you admire most from the fitness world?

I don’t think there is one person in particular but I do admire anyone who has worked hard for their success. I find myself attracted to people who are driven and ambitious as these are qualities that I wish to possess myself.
